US foreign policy and military intervention has been disastrous since Afghanistan.
Iran. Iraq, Syria, Libya........
Smart presidents do not get entangled in foreign wars.

I've never heard anyone in "the locker room" or anywhere, bragging about his ability to sexually assault women and get away with it.
In the debate the moderator Anderson Cooper pressed Mr Trump on whether he had been lying about kissing and groping women and he responded that he had never done those things, so it is not surprising that lots women are now coming forward to contradict him.

In my wildest dreams could never have predicted what's happened between Cameron and now.

My optimism was well-founded it seems.

Re: 21st Century Socialist Man
Pleasantly surprised by Corbyn as a person during the campaign (and subsequent to the election). Still don't see how his policies could get Labour a majority of seats in parliament. As for May, good grief...

Quite. May's total inadequacy during the campaign doesn't make Corbyn anymore electable as PM. He still lost; just not quite as badly as was expected. It's a personal victory for him in that he won't face another leadership challenge for the foreseeable future but that's still three general election defeats on the trot for a party that was bulletproof with the electorate under Blair, even after Iraq. Assuming for a moment that May will almost certainly never be permitted to serve as Tory leader during another general election campaign I can't imagine Corbyn doing any better against any of the current front runners to replace her.

One of my favorite podcasts is the BBC "More or Less" where experts study the numbers around all sorts of subjects. This last week, among other subjects, they looked at the claim the Daily Mail made that Labour were only short by 2,000 votes in governing the country.
They studied the seats that Labour lost by very slim margins and concluded that if about 2,400 votes had gone the other way then Labour would have won enough seats against the Tories such that they could have built a coalition with 2 or 3 other parties to form a government.
They also looked at the seats lost by Tories in marginal seats and they were only about 780 votes short of a clear majority government.
Such slim margins....

The agreement with the DUP won't last long, but it will further tarnish the Conservative Party. The outcome of the next election will be a Labour minority government, with the Lib Dems and the Greens entering into a confidence and supply deal in return for a referendum on the brexit terms. So, lots of reasons for optimism.
