21st Century Socialist Man
Jeremy Corbyn gave a fantastic presentation at the close of the event.
There may be hope for a better future in the UK after all.

Fantastic - imaginative or fanciful; remote from reality.

Re: 21st Century Socialist Man
Corbyn is completely unelectable. The domination of the far left in the Labour Party is condemning the UK, or at least England and Wales, to another decade of Tory rule, or maybe longer. We are becoming, effectively, a one party state.
You are my age Novo, and you should know better. We've been round this track before. When Foot was leader, I remember one of my Labour Party friends crowing that the left had never been stronger, when in fact a smaller percentage of the electorate were voting Labour than at any time since the party was formed.
The far left in the Labour Party always confuses power within the party will power in the country. It is irrelevant that half a million members support Corbyn. What matters is that more of the public at large trust May with the NHS than him. The next election is going to be a wipe out for Labour.

Agreed. I think that is the difference this time round, that the Labour Party may not come back. But, I think most of the moderate Labour MPs will be pushed, by deselection, rather than jumping ship. Nobody wants to repeat the SDP fiasco.

Jeremy Corbyn is a step too far to the left, even for this dyed in the wool Labour supporter. The current state of the Party saddens me.

Re: 21st Century Socialist Man
It's just maths:
According to the Fabian Society, in order to win the next election, Labour needs 104 seats in England and Wales and 40% of the vote to win. In the marginal constituencies, 4 out of 5 of those votes must come from people who voted Tory last time (and probably also for Brexit because of their concerns about immigration). Those people are not going to vote for Corbyn.

More like a giant leap too far left. And I agree with the comments that this is a bigger mess than Labour was in in '81, which is saying something. Completely unelectable with Corbyn as leader.

It's one thing that David Cameron got right after the referendum, he told him, for gods sake GO.

As to the electorate trusting May over Corbyn with the NHS, can I have some of what you're smoking?
