I had to put socks & shoes on (instead of sandals) for my morning walk today.

Trees seem to be changing later then usual around here this year, they have finally started to change, I recall last fall my maple tree lost its leaves in Sept, still has leaves and just now changing colors.
Government agency vs landlord amusing at times, government agency isn't patient and landlord works at glacial speed to fill out a simple form, government agency gets pissy over it.

Bit of a rant coming up:
I’ve learned my lesson about trying to *give* stuff away (items of furniture in good condition) via local internet/fb groups...
Multiple messages from people who haven’t read the details in the ad posted (first come first served, can’t deliver, etc etc), a lot of time wasted replying, then more time wasted waiting around for them not to turn up and fetch item(s).
It happened a couple of years ago with decent sofa, and again recently with a decent table.
Lesson learned: call local charity place, schedule pick-up, pick-up happens on schedule, job done. And watch charity sell them for silly prices (NB: good for charity).

I had a mattress, box spring and rails to give away. A woman was really grateful even though she only needed a mattress but I made it plain it was altogether - getting rid of those bits for me was no easier than all of it.
She turned up wanting only the mattress. Fortunately her husband was there and he did the fair thing.

Last xmas I bought some theatre tickets for The Snow Queen for four but we couldn't go. I offered them to a family charity but it took a couple of reminders to get a response.
Something similar happened with in date insulin I no longer needed (quite a lot and some syringes when I was changing to cartridge method) and it took me about 5 contacts and two arrangements with an organisation that includes a clinic.
Another place was only interested if I could deliver. I couldn't so that was collected by the city for dumping.
