Got an email today
Sponsorship approval woop de doooo !!!!
How do I get hold of an IMM1017B Medical form as the authorised doctor will not conduct a medical on our UCI number ? Once I get this I can send it to London. Obviously want to get this done asap so as not to hold up the PR process.

Living in Calgary and will be applying using the outland method/app package.
Due to applying outland I know I need a medical upfront. Do they send the medical to myself and I then upload or do they send direct to CIC?

Medical reporting is done on line now. Yours will go into the CIC's system and you will have a formal receipt from the DMP to include in your applications package.

It says on the CIC website that "The panel physician will do a complete medical exam and may refer you for chest x-rays and laboratory tests."
From peoples previous experiences are they usually sent for x-rays and lab tests, just concerned about time.

I did my upfront medical last month in Regina, Sk. I'm applying Outland too. I saw the Dr then on the same day was sent for a chest X-ray and urine and blood tests, that was all. I got the impression everyone was sent for an X-ray and the samples. The Dr basically just measured blood pressure, height, weight, listened to my heart, looked in my ears, made me balance on tip toes with eyes closed and asked a couple of questions like "what's your alcohol consumption" etc. I was told they may ask for more tests, but if I didn't hear in two weeks I was fine. They send in the results and I was given a form to include in my application.

Yes, it is standard. Everyone (unless pregnant or under 15 I believe) has to have the chest xray and blood tests and it is part of the regular medical for immigration purposes. It adds on about an hour to the medical and is done the same day (normally done at a nearby clinic).

Goods to follow list, I am just a little confused with the WIKI.
I am a returning resident and lived in England for the past 8 years so everything I have was bought in the UK. We are waiting for my husbands PR but we are only in the early months. The house is sold "subject to contract" and I thought it was best to put the list under my name so I wouldn't pay duty on it but WIKI seems to say the opposite. Or am I just too tired from packing up and completely misunderstood it??
"However, a returning resident will be charged duty on the possessions that he/she acquired abroad or the goods that he/she is bringing back to Canada but which he/she did not register with the Canadian government before departing.
If a returning Canadian resident did not register with the Canadian government a list of goods that he/she removed from Canada, and if that former Canadian resident will be returning to Canada with a foreign spouse, it is in the couple's interests to list their possession's on the foreign spouse's Goods To Follow list. The reason is that the foreign spouse, as a new settler, will be entitled to bring his/her belongings into Canada duty free. (For more information about Goods To Follow lists, see the information for New Settlers, below.)"
