Re: MAY 2008 APPLICANTS
Yo Doc!!! Welcome Aboard!!
There's myself, OH, Elizabeth 7yrs and James 5yrs...keep changing our minds as to where we want to end up..... expect it to be somewhere between Sydney and Brisbane....
Afternoon Cygnet, we did the £10 ones and sent them when we sent our skills assessment off to ACS....we got them just before we got pos result through.....would say they are on target with getting them out within 40days (give or take a few days), depends on how fast you want them....we know that, hoping we get a Visa, we will have to validate by April 15th 2009..... as that's the date on the PCC's...
Still waiting for my OH to get his haircut so he can have his photo taken and then i can upload everything.....
Did anyone upload their doc's in dribs and drabs or did everyone do them all at once.....?? Bearing in mind i couldn't get to do it last night anyhow!!

Re: MAY 2008 APPLICANTS
I have just found this on the April Thread.......
Looking Good!!
6 May, 2008
Australia's federal government says it will set up new centres, and provide more resources, to the immigration department to speed up processing of 457, or skilled migrant, visas.
Our reporter Naomi Woodley reports the Federal Government is accepting most of the recommendations from a review of the 457 visa system.
The immigration department will put extra resources into clearing the current backlog of applications by the end of June.
The government says specialised centres will also be set up in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth to process visas from July, and teams will concentrate on regions, industries or projects to address particular shortages.
Employers classified as "low-risk" will be able to have their applications fast-tracked under an accreditation system.
The Federal Opposition is supporting the recommendations, but says many had previously been identified and announced by the Howard government.

I am liking the sound of that!!

Do we have to sign this, if we have applied online.
At the end of the online application there was a values statment & we just click on "Yes" to say that we accept, so basically we did not sign anything.
Do you think we should also print this out, sign & attach it ??
Any thoughts ?

Hi! How are you all doing, downloading your documents? Maybe an agent is worth it after all, at least for this 'bit'. Hope you get it done soon, without too many problems? Good Luck.

If I have sent everything they've asked for on the checklist and they need additional information they'll ask for it and I'll send it. Form 80 wasn't on the list and neither was a signed copy of the values statement. If they need them its no problem but I'm sure they'll ask.
Mind you, I'm quite willing to take a bit of time over this!!

Well I did it all (OH couldn't even tell you what visa we were applying for ) and I've spent the last three weeks or so since getting our skills assessment back to completing the online visa in my own little world of forms and certified docs
It's a good job I'm moving to Oz cos I've been so short tempered and obsessed that I don't think I've got any friends left LOL

We are not May applicants, more likely to be July but want to say hello and get to know a few people. I also noticed you are from the South.
We are in Bristol, My O/H comes from Torquay.
We are at Vetassess stage at the moment, awaiting a response, O/H has to take his IELTS in June and then the Visa App.............We are applying on a 176.
Im not sure if you know but there is a meet in Weston Super Mare at the end of May, time, date & venue TBC.

I just put things in front of him and said "sign that" or "what's your dad's date of birth?"
