No. You are reading into it what you want to read, not what is actually there.

Sadly that is one of the issues birth control will minimise the complications from and it is an issue. In Southern Africa I have read estimates one third of women have been raped. Whether the sex is voluntary or not the cost of healthcare and the extra population is something the nations struggle to afford. In the US "just say no" was promoted by the religious elements there. Studies found that those wearing chastitity rings had a higher rate of unwanted pregnancies as they were less likely to use contraception. Discounting human nature to make policy is like denying gravity when making an airplane.

Unemployment rate - looking for full-time work ; Persons ;
5.5% April 2010
5.6% April 2009
4.2% April 2008
4.2% April 2007
It actually isn't too bad though, considering the GFC.

In feb I would have missed out on the stats. I was looking for work but I did not claim benefits. It is an old one defining unemployment stats.
Falling from what ? from 5.6% a year ago to 5.5% now. But if we go back to before the last Federal election... 4.2%

Re: The Sensible Australian Election Thread
Most countries work on the International Labour Organisation definition.
Unemployment Statistics
Australia: Unemployed persons are defined by the ABS as those civilians aged 15 years and over who, during a period of one week (called the reference week), were not employed, but were available to start work in the reference week and had actively looked for work in the previous four weeks. It should be noted that ABS definitions of employment and unemployment conform with International Labour Organisation (ILO) standards. http://aph.gov.au/library/pubs/rn/2006-07/07rn18.htm
UK Official estimates of unemployment are produced by the Office of National Statistics (ONS) based upon the ILO (International Labour Organization) definition. Unemployment is a count of jobless people who want to work, are available to work, and are actively seeking employment. The ILO definition is used internationally, so comparisons between countries can be made, and it also allows for consistent comparisons over time. http://www.statistics.gov.uk/CCI/nugget.asp?ID=165
