Just finished a nvq level2 in the UK, there is no way round pm unless you have at least six years experience in hairdressing, the only way for us (hubby and daughter) is to go on a student visa, doing salon management for two years, its costing a bomb but its the only way in. have my sister their so we will live with her for a while.
We went to Australia last year for a visit, we saw a lawyer he said the only way in is to gain the experience in England or to study and take a chance, where taking the chance.
Hope all goes well for you
Tracey

Many thanks

If you can get a salon to sponsor you, then you can go on a temporary visa, I think its for four years after two years you can apply for pr. You don't need to go through TR for this visa, but if you do find a sponsor let me know how you get on, because i have tryed this route and it was a nightmare, i had three salons saying yes we will sponsor you, but then when they looked into it they said it was to much trouble and paper work, but i think if you were in oz for a holiday and found a salon so they could meet you it may be different, I really got my hopes up being sponsored and I think the only way in for me is the long way, but it will be worth it in the end.
Good luck

Mmmm- Sounds a bit dodgy to me - what if you get out there and the Salon is horrible to work in - you're tied to it for two years really aren't you! Guess it might be a waiting game for us as well then. Just never feels like we're getting any closer!! Guess you're right though - will be worth it in the end! How long do you have to wait?
