your hubby will need the A class license he wont be able to work alone until he gets this license, then only way he shall be eligible is to go to the Tafe (College) and do a short course either during the day for X amount of time or the evening course which is normally 1 x night per week for 12 weeks then he shall have to book into the right training agency to sit the test's there are a number of exams to do, im now talking of Melbourne all states have there own test's.
But in Victoria he shall have to do cable calc's, volt drop wiring rules schematic fault drawing fault finding on a switchboard, cable a switchboard & meter panel. then a disconnect & reconnect of an appliance, all must be completed before any license is supplied. also the cost of exams is expensive so is the bloody license.
But if he does the course at the Tafe they show you what to do, Oh & the cost of the course at Tafe is about $700.00.
If i can be of any help at all just ask, there is a new Wiring Rules (Regs Book) coming out this November or December with lots of changes in the thing.
