Default Barbers

Hi just found this thread so after a bit of info please.

My OH has been a hairdresser since he was 17 now 35 and we are in the process of our 175 visa. At the mo he is in a very funky salon which i half hairdresser half barbers and he cut both but he much prefers barbering and would like to do this more than hairdressing when we get to Oz.

So can you tell me how is the money for Barbers? seen loads of wages for hairdressing but not Barbers so can you help?

Also are there jobs for barbers we are looking to go to Adelaide.

Thanks in advance for you help and advice.

Tina x

Hi Tina,

It depends on where you are going. Salary's in the city are much better, esspecially a high end Barber, probably around $40,000 - $50,000 a year.

My wife works as a casual just now until the kids are a bit older and she works from 9am to 4pm for $140 a day. She also said in the salon were she works , tipping is not a common thing, and she has not been given a tip yet.

Hope this helps
