Where to live in New York or Cape Town?
Hi,
My husband has been offered the opportunity to go to New York or Cape Town with his work. While they are both exciting prospects, they are also quite daunting as we have a week to make a decision and we have a 2 year old daughter. Could I please ask for some help on where would be good family communities to live in in either city? In NYC we d need to be in commuting distance of JFK airport. In Cape Town I don't think it's such an issue. My husband has been to both places but only for work so doesn't really know the areas well and I have never been to either. My priority is maintaining a good family lifestyle for our small daughter so places where activities and family things are available would suit us best. I hope this makes sense. We are ever so slightly overwhelmed by all this. Many thanks.

Re: Where to live in New York or Cape Town?
I'm sorry, I've just realised that I've posted this in the wrong place.
To introduce myself my Husband and I are both 37 with a 2 year old and a dog. It looks very much like we re going to be moving country in a few months time, though which one has yet to be decided. I have really no idea where to start with all the practicalities so any help would be appreciated. I'd like to know what people think about the two places posted above and thoughts on taking our little family.

Hey, welcome to the forum
You've posted in the right place. Welcome Inn is for introductions. I don't know very much about either location I'm afraid. See if you get any response to this topic in here. If you don't, but you may like to anyway, pop over to both the USA section of the forum, and the South Africa section of the forum, and ask the same question. That way you'll be targeting the right people.
All the best with your decisions. Sounds like an exciting move either way.
