Smile Retiring to Pezenas, France 2021

Hello All,

Bill, 63 years old, residing now in Japan but on my way to retire by myself in Pézenas, south of France.
Interested to make some connections with others who are in or near Pézenas with a view to achieving an easy long term visa entry, a soft landing on arrival, a good introduction to the local delights, some pointers at pétanque and to avoid the pitfalls commonly made by a novice such as I (whose French is just now very comme ci, comme ca but I am studying like a Dervish and will continue to do so). All offers of advice gratefully received.

Thanks in advance,

Bill

Hello!
Perhaps we will meet in Pezenas. We have a house in the centre, have live off and on for 4 years, will return in late April again. We enjoy the area, have several friends, and continually discover and learn.
I am a retired music professor, many years of performing, travel, and had a long-term academic position in Vancouver, Canada. My wife is a linguist, lived in Japan for 5 years. We are both teaching still and I perform often, still. Hope to meet you, and that you are adapting well to little Pezenas!

Hi, "Bill retiring to Pézenas" left the building last September, so we've lost touch. You may find him at the Pétanque Club.... (and if you do, ask him to keep BE updated with his doings!)
This section is for world-wide Introductions - as suggested, post again in the France Forum, where you can join in the various discussions or start a thread yourself!
