Hello People
I've just joined ...............
but I am a long-time expat, with no desire to ever return to the UK
I was born and raised in Lancashire, but we left England 3 days after our marriage in 1967.
We spent a year in Texas, then moved up to Canada one year later "for 2 years".
Within 6 months, we had decided that BC was now home ................ we have been here ever since, and became citizens in 1974.
We have spent time in other countries ........... 1 year in Australia in the mid-70s, and about 10 months in New Zealand in the early '90s. But Canada is home.
The only downside is that our one and only child now lives on the opposite side of the country ............... and Canada is so large that it takes about 8 hours by plane for us to visit.
However, there is something known as the TRAIN .............. no experience can beat a 6 day/5 night journey by train all the way across Canada. We try to do that at least one way every time we visit over there.
This Christmas, we completed our 8th and 9th (or was it 9th and 10th) cross country trips since 2004
As you may assume .......... we are both now retired, and enjoying life to the full.

Re: Hello People
Thank you for the welcome
We have indeed enjoyed life here ...................
it was the best decision we could ever have made, when we decided to stay here.
