Heading Down Under!!
Hi all!
The time is finally right for my husband, 2 children and I to take the plunge and head to the land of Oz!! The visa applications are under way, I've secured state sponsorship to Victoria and I'm wading through the DIAC stuff now!
We've talked about going for SOOO long and now it's becoming a reality and all the details are quite overwhelming!!
This site seems fab, but there is so much I need to know and don't really know where to start!!!
Any suggestions would be gratefully recieved, thanks

Hi cakepigeon
First of all welcome to BE
I see you have already found our Australia forum and made a post so I am sure you will receive replies soon.
The good thing is you have already applied for your visas and got sponsorship so you're well on your way.
I reckon the best thing for you to do is ask any questions you have on the Australia forum as you will get answers from people who have already been through the process forst hand - and at the same time you will be making friends in your new neighbourhood to be.
In the meantime I wish you all the very best with your plans

Hello and a big welcome to BE.
Excellent information can be found in the BE Wiki, not forgetting the Living and Moving Abroad forum that will help you, another set of great help is the permanent threads at the TOP of each forum, they are very pertinent to that particular forum and makes sensible reading.
Moderators deal with any problems that arise such as inappropriate posts, spammers etc, you will find their names at the bottom right hand side of each forum's index in bold font.
Please contact me if I can give you any further help.

Re: Heading Down Under!!
Hi cakepigeon,
We too have decided the time is right after a long, long time discussing it! We are just now completing an application for a Skills Assessment and are conscious that we are running out of time before the rules change!! We've hit a wall at the moment, as hubby can't find his qual certificates! He's qualified as an Interior Designer and has been doing Interior Decoration as part of his work for over 20 years now. His nominated occupation is Interior Decorator and we are hoping to secure state sponsorship with S.A. Not sure if copies of his Interior Design certificates are a must, as his years of work experience are considered in place of an interior decorator diploma .... if anyone can help with this, we'd very much appreciate it --- we really are trying to 'find out feet' with this :/.
