Yeah for me!!!

I passed my driving test, even in the massive 8 seater. I have to say though, everyone said the Texas test was a bit of a joke, but I had to parallel park, reverse in a straight line, do an emergency stop and then go for a drive round the block. Okay, no where near as difficult as the UK one but am so glad I passed. I have been worried about it for the last fortnight since passing my theory test.
I can sleep tonight.

My SIL just did it a few months ago, you get a theory test, then a eye test, then a technical test (like where the oil goes and stuff) then your driving test. Good luck!

Well done!
That parallel parking can be a killer!
Looking forward to returning to Texas and renewing or getting a new DL later this spring. DH will have to do it too.

Congrats
My son, who's just turned 16, went and took his test a couple of weeks ago and didn't even have to do the theory part.....!!! Scary huh??

Yes, well done mate. Being mobile makes a big difference.
I don't think I've ever needed to parallel park since passing my test...
I failed twice. Once, I failed for striking an object, while the car was stationary...

If I remember correctly, the theory test is given before you get your learners permit. You have to pass that test to be able to get your learners permit.

Sort of. He took a short theory test before getting his permit and then because he's under the age of 21 he has to do drivers Ed (started that when he was 15) then at the age of 16 can take his driving test and written test. They had a computer down and therefore were letting some of the teenagers, who had a great score on their driving test to skip the theory test.
