Cool. Just remember that you have to have the XBOX "modded" before you can do any of the above. There are a few things to consider. This website will give you all the info you need and you can ask questions. http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php

The Xbox is great (brilliant graphics and sound), but as I stated earlier, many people experience problems with the console after about 6 months. Check out this link to another forum where people have been posting about the dreaded "disc read errors", the first sign that your Xbox is terminal. Mine started after about 6 months and got progressively worse. I like the Xbox better than the PS2, but I have had my PS2 longer and it has not had any problems.

If (like me) you have 2 or 3 PC's in the same house and all of them want to share the same broadband connection then (like me) you might want to set up some kind of small home network.

If (like me) you choose to use Microsoft products (such as a Microsoft Broadband Network) then the X-Box also plugs into this seemlessly allowing play over said internet connection.

PS2 kicks butt, Xbox is nothing but a smaller PC.

quick note : Xbox 2 is out THIS YEAR, PS3 is NOT.

I program the games (Hi snorkmaiden) and I work on Xbox 2. To be honest the ps2 has more games, the xbox is superior in technical aspects and can easily be modded, and the gamecube has FAR superior games but not many of them.

at this point in time, knowing what I know about the release schedule of the NEXT consoles... I would wait.

if you Absolutely HAVE to HAVE a console now.. buy ps2, as many other peeps have said.. there are LOTS of games for it. Many in bargain bins and thus MUCH cheaper than the other 2 consoles.

Bloody hell...this is an old thread! LOL. Where did you find it....the bargain bins? I ended up getting a PS2 just before Xmas and it's great! Very happy with it so far. I'm not a games geek and haven't a clue what the trendiest games are...I just enjoy the ones i have. Nice graphics and sounds...hours of fun.

I had PS2 when I was in the Uk then sold it when I moved over here. Bought the XBOX over here and to be honest I rather keep it than buy the PS2 again. Ps2 has more games but in terms of graphics I would slightly say XBOX is the way to go.

I would think, for Expats, the XBox would be the way to go. It allows you to play online with your family overseas. I play Halo 2 with my friends and ex work colleagues every w/e morning and the line up for the next 2 months is great. StreetFighter 2 15th Anniv, Star Wars Republic Commando and Doom 3 which will allow you to play Campaign online.

Got Xbox over hear cos the live feature is great for playing against mates back home - PS2 is better marketed more games etc and the thin one looks sexy as hell!

PS3 is actually PSP - as in personal - its awesome and let you rip movies etc to handheld - sexie again! It out now in Japan and you can get one if you pay over the odds. Xbox 2 also out soon.

Remember though with new systems the old one will always do what it always did - your games may look dated but for $150 both PS2 and Xbox are great value!
