No would not...

Then you have to ask yourself, if you separated from your partner would you go back?

In a heartbeat. (That heartbeat could take for as long as it would take me to save enough money to do it though, but it's the principle that counts, right?)

I don't know. It depends how happy uou are there, and how acclimatised into US society you are. I'm going to be living alone for 21 months so maybe I'll become quite independent. If I loved it then no, I would stay.

So far so good!

Athough its not what I was doing in the UK, the years I've spent as a manager dealing with employees has given me a head start.... plus it seems employment law is a lot easier over here!

I think I'd definitely go back, although my life is here, I think England will always be 'home'......

I don't think I would go back to the UK, I have a much better life here in the US. Plus if I were not with my wife no more the chicks here are a lot hotter, friendlier and just dig my accent, so why would I want to go home??????

Im just wondering, those of u who moved to the USA via their US spouse, were any of u contemplating moving there before or not? Have u always dreamt of leaving the UK?

Id never thought of leaving the UK, even though my job as a casino dealer left me ample opportunity to travel the world on cruise ships etc!

Dam good question.

My answer.....I just don't know. When I was really young according to my parents I always stated I would leave home and live in America! Well as I grew older I never gave it a 2nd thought, I love travelling and travelled various parts of Europe and I lived in Oz for a year, came back to blighty and was content on settling there never once went on hoilday to the U.S. One whirlwind romance later, I'm living in the U.S, own a home, drive a nice car, have 2 great kids bloody weird!

Yes I am proberly doing much better here than if I still lived in the U.K, but a big part of me misses it (my real home) and I still day dream of returning one day, I can't put my finger on it, I love living in the U.S, but I love my England too

Definately not ... as I've said before .. if hubby lived in Timbuktoo i'd be there instead, as for returning to the UK, I think I'll cross that bridge if I ever come to it.

LOL Scrumptious, my thoughts exactly! Have to say, though, I'm more consistently happy here than I have ever been. But I think that has more to do with WHO I'm with than WHERE I'm with him.

Having said that, it seems less of a sin to be happy here than in England. And people are pleasanter - except when they get behind the wheel!

I think you meant to say the people here are "more pleasant", there is no such word as "pleasanter" in the English language.

That's interesting. I remember reading about British actress Juliet Mills comming to NYC to act on Broadway. She said comming to the US felt as if she were comming home. She finally deduced that she was the reincarnation of a native America, I believe she said she was an Apache in a former life. Anyway, she decide to stay, and now lives somewhere in NY I believe. Go figure.
An Apache? She should have moved to beautiful Gilbert, Arizona, instead of NYC.
