......and dont forget the Zoo. Best one I have ever been to

Re: Would like information about San Diego
Not sure how I missed this thread..... here goes.....
I spend almost 3 months each year in SD. Brit fiance moved out there over 3 yrs ago for a perm job. 2 1/2 yrs ago we bought a condo in Carmel Valley/Del Mar. We love it. California has expanded so quickly over the last 20-30 yrs, and SD over the last 10 yrs or so, which means that there are loads of people who have come from elsewhere, so lots of expats and other friendly people to help you settle in.
The best thing is the weather - we find that we can do absolutely anything that we want to.....we dont need to wait to see "what the weather's like" etc... We can go skiing about 5 hrs drive away (Mammouth) or closer (Big Bear - not been there tho). Blokey loves going biking every sunday morning...at about 6 :scared:
We don't go downtown/gas lamp to eat or go out all that often....parking's a bit of a pain - we prefer local....La Jolla, Del Mar. We dont find SD anymore expensive than anyone else, except for real estate as has already been mentioned. The average-ish cost of a 2 BR condo in a decent area is about/ a bit more than $330K, rental prices - check craigslist.org
Like the others have said, there are jarheads about, and also lots of students, but there are loads of normal people.
Feel free to PM me - I'll help with anyhting that I can.
Cheers

I found homes very similar to our 300kish Florida home for between $900k and $1.1 million, and I'm not joking, the prices are really that bad as far as I can see.
