It would seem that maybe Spain has a decent chance of going farther than normal...amazing- some of the best players in the world, best league (la liga) best teams...fanatical fan base, and they get their asses kicked always (ok, lat time the went farther than usual).
US may get to the second round... depends on Italy and the Cheks.

Dennis Lawrence, whose goal in a playoff against Bahrain put Trinidad into its first World Cup, was delighted to be facing England, where he plays for Wrexham.

It has always seemed to me that the national futbol team is the only thing in which all factions do unite behind...Basques, Catalans, Gallegos et al. In Spain, you will rarely see anyone waving the Spanish flag... due to Franco's ultra-nationalisim and the Spanish not wishing to seem Facist, however at the Copa the last time, there were Flags waving all over the stadiums.
