Default work advice for a mechanic

Hello,
I am moving to Michigan (ann arbor area) later this year and I will be looking for a job in the automotive field. I am a qualified master technician for Renault and will be looking to get a similar position over there.I know Renault are not in the states but I am willing to retrain with another manufacturer and work my way back up. Does anyone on here have any similar experiences or can anyone offer any advice on anything related to this post
Thanks

Dh is a mechanic here, most like Dh get certified with ASE now days, I don't think it's mandatory but heres the link you will see the sign outside garages advertising services. Each part of the job is another certificate.
