Re: Where is everyone
I'm in Taipei, Taiwan. Been here nine months, planning to stay six years.
Where exactly are you MissBetty, if you don't mind divulging? I made it to Cape Tribulation and thought Far North Queensland was the most beautiful place on Earth. I may retire there one day! |

Yes it is very beautiful here, stunning in fact, palm trees, sunshine, white sandy beaches but it does depend when you visit. The wet season is horrid - Nov to Feb/March constant rain, humidity, stingers in the water, snakes in the garden, eaten alive by mozzies, hungry crocs in the water and everything goes mouldy!!!! The people up here are feral too. Went to my last job, abdo pain and diarrhoea, but told patient was happy to take her to ED if she wanted to go. Her partner came home, abused the s@#$ out of me (he was drunk) so had to call for urgent police assistance as he threatened to 'smash my face in' as he thought I hadn't taken her to hospital quickly enough. This was at 10 am lol!!! I get abused and threatened at least 4 times per month by patients/relatives, there is a massive drink and drug problem up here  If I retired here I would go to the Sunshine Coast or the lower part of the Gold Coast. Nicer people/weather/shops/restaurants/beaches - trust me on this one! ;) |

Re: Where is everyone
A very mixed bunch we are arn't we:)
Just goes to show that it you can take some of us out the UK and spread us all over the world, but when push comes to shove, home will always be the UK. :fingerscrossed: that everyone who wants to get back does. And for those who end up staying, that they find peace and some joy with their new homes. |

Re: Where is everyone
I'm on Long Island, east of Manhattan.
Good luck to all those trying to sell up and move back to the UK. Our house has been on the market for 2 very long years. People want either high end or a complete dump. Nothing 'middle of the road' is moving around where I live. So frustrating. |
