From reading all the info I have come to the understanding that even afer I marry it could be as long as 90 days before I can work. Am I right on this?
So if I can't take paid work can I work for a charity, as sitting at home for 3 months will drive me mad.
Is there any way to speed up process so I can work asap after AOS?
Thanks in advance for any help or advice
Rob

It depends on the office how quick (or slow!) it will be. Check here for the office
you'll be using:

Yes you can do true volunteer work. No there isn't a general way to speed up the EAD
though some people have had luck with getting the employer to ask nicely!

Checked that web site and the office I will be using is either Cincinatti or Cleveland and both said 1 day for work authorisation. So does this mean once I have my marriage certificate I can go in and can be authorised to work in 1 day, providing I have the correct visa stuff?
Thanks

Check which office you are using. The INS website has the counties for each office:
http://www.ins.usdoj.gov/graphics/fi...nd/aboutus.htm
http://www.ins.usdoj.gov/graphics/fi...ti/aboutus.htm
Both of them operate on a "walk in on a Tuesday morning" for same-day EAD policy.
Details on the INS website.
