what taxes are there in Florida/other states?
Ive just read that FL has no income tax or property tax.
So where do they raise taxes from?
What are the rates in your area for comparison?
thanks

It also has a 6% sales tax, which is a canny thing as it collects taxes from (i) visitors and who don't have taxable earnings and (ii) pensioners who have relatively low income and/ or are living off capital that who would not pay any/ much tax if Florida imposed an income tax.
In fact there are numerous taxes, just have a look here!

I was reading an article on msn news, quoting the 10 best places to live in the US.
I was in a rush when i posted, so was it perhaps no State income tax, but federal, or vice versa?

Everyone pays federal tax, so it would be federal but no state. Texas is the same way, and similarly it seems the bulk of the shortfall is made up with property taxes and sales taxes. In the DFW area, property taxes vary from 40 to 75 cents per $100 of your houses value.
