Well impressed
As you should all know by now Analog TV will stop broadcasting in feb next feb !
I went online and applied for a discount voucher for a converter box so I could still watch Tv in my truck as up to now all I could get was 5 channels in Yonkers, 2 were clear if I parked up against a storage silo and no other truck went by or If I sat in the bunk with my right leg in the air, then I could get wheel of fortune but not read the words.
Off we went to Walmart sunday and exchanged the voucher to get one, all I had to pay was $9.99.
Monday afternoon in Yonkers I set it up ..... Amazing
I now have 30 odd channels crystal clear, some of which I have never even heard of
Go out and get on asap.

Re: Well impressed
Voucher? Analog TV? Converter? For the electronic technology challenged individual, please explain. I have HBO and a cable box so what is the converter used for? I don't have HD television and no plans on getting one in the next few years.

Over the air signals, i.e. radio towers and antennas on tv's (rabbit ears) are broadcast in analog formats. Starting in 2009, those signals will switch to digital. So anyone with an analog TV (i.e. any tv built pretty much pre-2004) is going to get nothing 'over the air'. They need to buy a new HD tv with a 'digital' receiver inside of it, or take their older analog tvs and get a digital converter box (as those above have done).
Now, if you have cable or satellite...never mind. Your box does the digital conversion (if it is a relatively new box). Some older boxes may be phased out, and you may also see some channels move around on your television (the locals may move from 2-5-7, etc to 201, 211, 217 or something).
