Has anybody done any tours to hit the high spots? Or is that even done in Vegas?

The Hoover dam a short drive just outside LV, it rises more than 700 feet above the Colorado river, built during the depression with 1930's art deco style features it is one of the greatest engineering feats in modern American history.( see thumbnail)
Cirque du Soleil is supposed to be good, the new Beatles show might be a good choice;

The dolphin habitat at the Mirage, where you can be even a trainer for a day

Re: Viva Las Vegas!!!!!
My favorite place in the US besides being with my grandson in Mississippi. I go at least twice a year. Loved the Grand Cayon tour. We did the plane trip for the day. Left in the morning and returned in the evening. Also loved the bus tour of the Valley of Fire and Lake Mead. We were picked up at the hotel, stopped in various areas of the Valley of Fire for a guide tour and picture taking and then on to Lake Mead for a lovely lunch (included in the price) and then back to Vegas. Have also done the Hoover Dam tour.
Book tickets know for a show while there. I've loved the Cirque whatever and have seen two of their shows. The last one was Mystère at Treasure Island in September. You should book in advance, however. I book shows using LasVegas.com. Just saw you are staying there ... ask now if they will reserve you tickets.
Be sure to walk through the casinos. Love Caesar's, Bellagio, Paris, Venetian and the Rio where I always stay. Many have free shows, i.e. the water show at the Bellagio, the Pirate Show outside at Treasure Island, Carnival at the Rio.
Can I come?

1 - Tour M&M's factory.
2 - Hard Rock Hotel in the evening.
3 - Gallagher's at NY NY - for a steak.
4 - Fountains at Bellagio (that was already on my list)
5 - 'O' at the Bellagio

Sorry I didn't realise you were with your dad...in that case you must go to the Hoover Dam...I'm sure he'd enjoy it. Where are you staying?

They might enjoy the rides at the top of the Stratosphere...pretty scarey stuff and great views for photos. Comp drinks at the MGM were the strongest and most frequently offered.

DO NOT spend your first 14 hours in Vegas gambling and drinking vodka - that's my tip.
Oh, and if you're in New York, New York can you let me know if they have a mirrored hallway leading to a night club, or perhaps that was just a dream

Re: Viva Las Vegas!!!!!
Funny, that is the one casino I've not been in. Guess because I'm in the Big Apple every working day for the last zillion years, I have no desire to see it in mockup.
