Red face Visitors Coming from UK?

......Well, from tomorrow you might have to wait a bit longer in the Arrivals Halls if you're meeting & greeting them at an airport...

Top Tip:

If anyone lives in the New York metro area, the best flight of all for arrivals to avoid long, long waits in the Customs & Immigration hall is to take flight BA185 from Heathrow to Newark (15 miles from Manhatten).

This flight departs LHR@ 08.55am and arrives in EWR @ 11.35am but often lands 30mins earlier. There are no other planes arriving from overseas at this time (Malaysian lands at 09.20am and the next flight after the BA flight doesn't land until 12.30pm). It's brilliant for passengers arriving from London as the Newark airport Terminal B is as dead as a dodo in the mornings.

Given the choice, I'd always use Newark over JFK 'cos JFK is a madhouse and in my experience has more delays and cancellations than Newark.

I agree that its a pain but its a necesary one. However all that security is a bit of a chocolate teapot if the security checks at the departure airport are inadequate. Would be better if it was done everywhere start and finish of journey.

Also most of the visa waiver queue delays are down to planks not filling the form in correctly or not filling it in until the last minute.

Doesn't help that internal flights have crap security, or can say good byes right up to the departure lounge...

Very true, nice concept to see someone onto their flight but not in this climate and perhaps one rule for all would spot undesirables not just on external lights

Aye, that's for sure, I know it's a bit hard at heathrow and the like, but then it's done and dusted, rather than blithery eyes up to the plane and slowing things down, and having people without tickets, would make it a lot simpler and quicker.
And Internal flights, need better ID than using just a driver's license....can be a lot easier to fake than passports...maine one's a bit shit, well the new one ain't bad, but the older ones are really shite...
