Well, you live in the right place then! If you think 73 is a bit chilly, stepping into a sub zero environment will literally make you gasp for a moment, it's quite a shock. I am one of the few that really likes cold weather and snow. I start getting uncomfortably warm at temps greater than 75f, anything over 85f and I'm miserable.

Maybe you should pick up some new underwear for the trip? Something in red perhaps?

Yeah, it's 73 in my house, average of 55 degrees outside & in NY it said it was 35 degrees. I like it hot, so my heating bill is through the roof, even though some would call this mild! I usually have the heating at 80 degrees, but we're trying to save money at the mo.

Well it this part of NY it -10 right now and tipped to drop to minus 25 later tonight.

Don't look like it...I've been conned into doing some work on our kitchen for the forseeable future.

The cold weather is the lead item on all the local news reports.....it's the coldest day in 2 years and they're saying it's "dangerously cold" . I'm not going swimming this morning, don't want to get pneumonia!

Here's the latest for Manhatten (and it's much colder outside the city of course...)

Hats, scarves and gloves are essential....

Although in my experience it always feels worse in the city...the concrete canyon effect.

I've got a pair myself. They're warm, if not practical. The "trapdoor" in the rear takes a little getting used to.:(

Actually I always find it warmer in Manhattan then the 'burbs (even the Bronx). Left the house at 6:50 this morning and it was -6 wind chill and it was horrid in the Bronx waiting for metro-north but as soon as we got to grand central terminal and I started the walk to the office it felt 10 to 15 degrees warmer. Some say it is because of the subway and train tunnels and the warm air grates on the sidewalks that does it.

Well we're here, just logged in to check my messages about meeting up tomorrow, looking forward to it. Finding it hard to type as I'm a tad pissed! Had a great day, but I'll post about it later when it doesn't take so long to type! See you girls tomorrow.
