Still not getting the +55 degree temperature drop, it says it will go down to 19 degrees (f), but that's still only  a drop of 36 degrees. Am I missing something?

According to the TV with the wind chill it will be sub zero temps. The thermometer may say 19F but it will feel a good 20 degrees colder with the wind chill.

Okay, found a website that says a wind chill of 7 degrees f (which is -14 degrees c!). Wow, I don't even remember it being that cold in England!

That's pretty normal for this time of year...or colder. It'll feel much colder in NYC 'cos of the concrete canyons...you'll need very warm clothing and make sure your hands, head and ears are covered.

Flippin' Nora, trouble is they don't have warm clothing in the shops here, so I'm screwed. I suppose I'll have to buy stuff when I'm there, which sux as I hate wasting time shopping. :(

I can assure you that the weather up here gets much, much colder than in England.... I can't stand the cold. If the air is dry then you'll be getting electric shocks when you touch metal (doors, lift buttons etc.) or kiss your beloved!

Before I get out of the truck, I put my hand on the metal roof & keep contact as I put my feet on the ground, works every time! It must be the tyres, I think it's along the same lines as getting struck by lightning in your car, you're safe because of the tyres.

Any science people care to explain, I could be totally wrong?
