Isn't that what divers get if they surface too quickly!
j/k..i know it's actually 'the bends' but it's pretty close to Benz!
Just wanted to say that I've always heard it pronounced "ass-fault". I do wonder what "ass-felt" is though. Is that extra soft, extra luxurious TP?

I haven't said or heard 'going potty' since I was about 5 years old.
My neighbors say it to their dog, like a command, but it's hardly common with adult to adult conversation.
But while we're on the subject.. DH reports these cars are called "BMs" in the UK.. which is what my mom always told me was the "proper" name for... going to the potty.
britvic, it's Asphalt (sounds like Ass-felt tho). No 'sh' sound.

My daughter thought it was hilarious when I referred to "ash falt" which is how we pronounce it in the UK.

I never saw any that only cost a penny though.. always a dime!
Thank god that went the way of the dinasour.. although it's annoying in Mexico (and in C America) where you have to pay the attendant to go (and get your two squares of NON fluffy TP). A lot of places just leave a jar out now.
FTR, I usually say 'go to the bathroom' or usually between DH & I 'must pee!' <---it's usually urgent.
I love how DH has gleefully adopted my Dad's bastardized Spanish 'peepeearia'.
Gets me every time.

My VW Jetta was often mistaken for a BMW. That probably won't make the enthusiasts happy either.

And I still damn my ex for getting the 2002.. it was MINE I tell you, MINE!
