Waste of time. Driving a right hand drive car in a country that drives on the right is a pain in the arse. I recall this from the many trips I used to take to the continent in my British car. Don't bother.

Horses for courses. I've driven LHD in the UK for many years and RHD in Europe even longer. Makes very little difference to me in the grand scheme of things.

Same here. The only thing that I could see being a problem was toll booths, but there is the electronic pass. What else? I dont do McDonalds, Burger king or any of that kind of thing.

Far more drive through things in the US though, toll booths everywhere and reaching for parking tickets at booths.

Be handy for metered parking though I guess.

Many ATMs are drive through too. I would import a specialist car for occassional driving if it were RHD, not too sure I'd want one as a daily driver over here.

Depends on where you're going in the US. In Houston, there aren't any corners (well unless you're happy to get your kicks on the freeway ramps).
3 of my very good British friends bought European stick shifts when they got here, all of them regret not getting an auto (we are talking about Houston traffic here though where manuals are a nightmare).

You will also want to check the availability of diesel in the area you're moving too. It's getting better but not all gas stations carry diesel here.

Some people see the RHD or English drive as they call it as one upmanship. Back in the 50s and 60s a good few RHD Jags and Rolls Royces were brought over with the UK plates left on for show. They still pop up from time to time. Personally I think RHD is a pain in the neck and with 4 young drivers would not want any confusion

Pick a car that's over 25 years old, a reputable import agent and you're in business.
Perseverance works, and if you want a particular car it's totally worth it.
The US totally missed out on a whole generation of amazing 1980s European hot hatches, and it's time they started rolling in...

Here's one guy's story.
