Maybe the question is more about the marmite than the stick. It is a glob of thick beef stock that looks like molasses, known to make those who have never tried it before, clutch their throats and run screaming to the bathroom with a look of sheer horror on their faces - wondering how one could possibly voluntarily put such vile stuff in their mouths. Best served on buttered toast, but on a stick is also quite enjoyable - for some of us.
