I only have AT&T Uverse and TWC options where I am.

Although customer service is bad with both of these, AT&T was awful. Hour after hour, day after day trying to resolve an issue. Then I cancelled and they kept my $450 deposit (said it was a non-refundable deposit).

I've vowed never to buy anything from AT&T again, and everytime I get the chance, to pass on my experience. Hence this reply.

I'm with U verse and have never had a problem. In fact when it came time to renew our deal, we managed to get the full channel package for a $70 a month discount. Double the channels including all the premiums for an extra 15 a month, so I'm more than happy with them.

Probably all good if nothing goes wrong.

We have cable internet but no cable TV... I think the internet costs slightly more than it would with the TV package, but not a huge amount.

Depends...they're the pits where the in-laws live, but they're also their only option :/

With us, on Verizon the cost of not having cable TV was $20 more expensive than if we had it, so we kept it when we only wanted the internet

I have cable tv and internet and want to ditch the tv and keep the internet, but I cant find a price. I expect as an existing customer it is not going to be any cheaper, so I have not tried too hard. Brighthouse here (TWC). No apparent alternative for just broadband.

If you're interested in the football, it's worth noting that the World Cup is on ABC & ESPN.

Get something you can install xbmc on - amazon fire, atv2 etc. Or get on eBay and buy a pre configed device (search for xbmc on eBay). All you need is decent Internet and you can pretty much get all sports for free.

I have not yet moved to the the US but here in the uk our satellite got damaged during the mental winds earlier this year and I haven't bothered fixing it as we just watch the xbmc all the time.

You need a decent Internet package though (minimum 4mb).
