Default Travel Insurance

Has anyone got any decent travel insurance? looking for something that'll cover medical costs in Europe in particular (we get automatic cover for accident, lost baggage etc from our travel agent, but no medical). The policies we've seen so far aeitehr don't cover at all, or have such tiny limits as to be pretty much worthless - eg BA's policy has a 10k limit on medical evacuation - that goes nowhere! Any tips appreciated.

Check into your regular US health insurance as that sometimes covers medical stuff abroad. My last company was with Blue Cross Blue Shield, and they covered all emergencies. May help if its just the medical bit you need.

Yeah, tried there already. No joy - they even have a different procedure for treatment outside our home state!

We had 100k medevac on a policy with AIG in Singapore, but can't get coverage here...10k really isn't worth it - its a drop in the ocean if you actually need to claim a proper medevac. Once had to do a guy from Korea to Singapore and it was almost 150k!
