which of these cities and states would you choose?

Phoenix, AZ, is not bad.
I am with a nursing agency and they have the followig places available for assignment. I know a lot will depend on where they have openings but i want to have some sort of priority set as they do try to place you where you want to go
here are my choices and my opinions so far
Orlando FL (nice place, have visited before, but worried about job market for hubby, low wages and high cost of living )
Phoenix AZ (very hot, feel as though it is more isolated than the east coast, good job opps for hubby, loads of house rentals)
York PA (like the small town idea, reasonably commutable to baltimore and Philly and Harrisburg for hubby finding work, not sure about weather)
Baltimore MD (don't really know much about this city TBH, but seems convenient for both Baltimore and DC if we lived somewhere inbetween both, seems expensive rental wise and high taxea??? but i would ge a higher pay level if working here, again weather issues, I live in Scotland ow and would love at least a nice long summer, but not concerned about having snow in winter)
Atlanta GA (not sure they still have assignments here, seems to be a good place weather wise and renting costs are reasonable, traffic is an issue i believe?)
Bakersfield CA, from what i have read i don't want to move here whatsoever!!!)
so that is my brief opinions but wondered if you could add anything else. I have looked into schools in the areas and have found both good and bad ones, but that is a comparison of school within that city, what about a comparison between states ie. would a bad school in PA be better still than a top rated school in say Orlando?

Even paying international rates in the UK, a top UK uni is peanuts compared to a mediocre uni in the US.

Aren't nurses still given some huge preferences for immigration? It would seem to me that if one agency was offering say 'only these choices' of cities you could easily find another agency that would have something in a place you would like (wherever that may be).

Sorry I think thats a stupid statment....some people are there because they are making a good living....to be near family....to do as little work as they can get away with....because they are young..or old....because house were once cheap to buy....and God help us even for the nice weather....where that one comes from I'll never know...if there is one thing bad about the place its the weather....
You don't like the place...others may....people want life changing advice....not stupid comments....

a lot of agencies require a large cancellation fee if you change and go with someone else.

this is something of a myth.... from reading the experiences of nurses who've come to the US via their nursing careers, they don't get a great number of choices.....

Krizzy, the entire state detests going to Orlando unless it is to visit the theme parks and they get the heck out of there as fast as they can. Been living here 10 years and it has always been that way. I don't care if you think it is stupid, it is the way it is. You're always getting on my case. I know most people would love to be doing Meth in the trailer parks of Dixie county or getting brainwashed at a Scientology convention in Tampa. For those who are a little more adventurous there is always the fun option of trying to find flood insurance for a house on the coast and all the while hiding from 90mph winds. Hmmm all sounds much better than Orlando can't wait to get the heck out of there.

If your statement were true..then the whole area would be a ghost town...no locals...most of the people I know who live there are very happy...so that knocks your post into a cocked hat straight away...
If you don't want me on your case...then first off...don't make general statements that are of no help to anyone...and second....stop moaning about the place I think we all know by now that you don't like it...I'm not happy where I live all the time...but I would not put off anyone from trying it here because they may love it....as many do...
