Hey Yosser, how did you fare?
I just made it back to the house before the big storm hit.
It is pretty amazing to watch the visibility drop so quickly in that type of rain and hail. We have the odd stray bit of branch in the garden but not much else. It seems there is quite a lot of damage in some places.
I have to admit, when you are driving in the car and the Emergency Service broadcast comes on I can't help but be a little excited.
That is probably very lame and very inappropriate but we just don't get weather like this back home.

We were out driving in it, our windscreen wipers were on top speed and struggling to cope.
Oh well, time to get the Tornado shelter (aka cupboard under the stairs) cleaned out.

Got a mail from one of my web admin's who lives in Dallas:
"the storms are just ending. We had a very strong system move through about 3:00. A few funnel clouds were spotted, and it shut down two airports (including DFW Int'l., the big one) for a while. A lot of rain and 70+ mile per hour winds. The good news is it's supposed to be gorgeous for the next week or so."
WTF ! :scared:
In Blighty all we had to worry about was a bit of wind.
Where are you now Michael Fish ?!
