Terrorist Attacks in London

Re: Terrorist Attacks in London
Virtually everyone in my office has this morning been offering words of sympathy and asking if my friends and relatives are alright, and I really appreciate that.
An observation: I notice that after a quick press conference Blair was straight onto a helicopter to London. Compare that with George Bush's heroic behaviour on 9/11.

I'm trying to play the video off the initial BBC news link but it's buffering and then stops, anyone else having problems?
I don't have BBC America......

My thoughts and prayers for all those caught in this attack and for all citizens and residents of the UK and their families wherever they might be.

We may react differently at times and, yes, we Brits are known for our reserve, but we appear to me as siblings that, underneath it all, care deeply for each other regardless of surface bickerings and regardless of what our respective leaders do.
You are correct, the biggest difference is the experience of attacks on the homeland. The British have enough that they know the way to get back on track quickly. There is a cultural difference, where Britain expects the government to respond with funds, the American way is to raise money through non-governmental sources.

I could not get Radio 5, OK now.
I think the volume hit them, now that most people are trying to get home the demand has reduced.
I am sure it was only a case of when, but that does not impact on it actually happening.
