Successful AOS Interview in Atlanta
Just thought I would share with all of you a big wooohooooo! We had our AOS Interview yesterday and it went very smoothly and was a very easy, and brief interview, maybe all of 10 minutes. She asked my wife a few questions, took my tax records, checked ID's, took her EAD card back and opened up her passport, and BAM! put the I-551 stamp in her passport. She gave us a small piece of paper that told us when we had to file for removal of conditional residency in 2 years, and to make sure we did it between the dates shown. We filed AOS back in April 2002 and got the interview quickly, which was great news and a surprise. Woohooo.....

Congratulations. Its great that you got your stamp right away. It must feel good to put away the paperwork for a year or so

Somersetfolks,
Were you guys adjusting from a K1?
My husband and I filed the I-130 and what-not...I think it's going to take us a bit
longer. :-)

We filed in late April, 2002, got his EAD 34 days later and haven't heard a word
since. :-)
I've often heard that adjusting from K-1 takes a shorter amount of time than if
you're adjusting from a visa waiver, but we'll see!
Congrats on a successful interview and I'm going to keep my fingers crossed!!!!

GUYS! Congratulations yourselves and thanks for the Info- I entered on a visa waiver 2 weeks ago and am going to mary my American girlfriend (without K visa business)- Thank you for letting me know it can be done! I was sweating about it a bit.
Let me check- has your boyfriend had to leave the country at all or is it okay once you have filed for AOS, you can stay?
Thanks for any reply and taking a weight off my mind!
