And we had snow 3 christmases ago.
And 13 years before that.
And the summers are hot and sunny.
And no eco-freaks to stare you down for driving a 4x4 (unless its a little itty bitty pretend one)

Houston would be a excellent place work wise, Guessing it's easily within commuting Distance of Oil and Gas installations?

It doesnt suprise me, They have a history of not wanting to be part of the US.
I would just tuck my head in the sand untill I got the feel of the system.

How do they treat Brit's, I have a stereotype in my head from watching too many movies that theyd be pritty hostile?

There are laws against it, maybe people are reluctant to enforce them for some reason. I don't think Polygamy is really wide spread though, even among Mormons in Utah.

Not my type of scene there mainly for low production wells, I would most likely work on the On Shore Installations.
