After years of reading remarks like this, I actually started to believe that the Brits actually had a better quality of food because I really had no point of reference.

Now ... I realize it's just a matter of "taste".

Celtic solidarity? Plus, it is a nice tune.

Yes and Yes,

Makes more sense than the one band playing Doo Wah Diddy,

I do love the pipe bands. Lots of 'em down from NYC and some folks over from "the auld sod" as well.

We were in Kraków last summer, enjoying a meal and a glass or two of wine in an outdoor restaurant in the Old Town Square. There was a bagpiper there regaling the crowds, he was resplendent in kilt, tweed jacket and a tam. He was a good piper too - we talked to him later, & he was from North Carolina.

chartreuse is an unknown quantity at this point
Default Re: St Patrick's Day

So walking around making references to Semtex and muttering "Fenian Bastards" under your breath doesn't count as a fail then?

I dare the Brits 'round here to eat a sandwich from Slyman's and then say with a straight face that they prefer that slab of congealed goo from a can

I've never been to Slyman's but now I know I will if I'm ever back up that way.

Nothing more divine than a nice corned beef on rye and/or Reuben (minus the sauerkraut).

*orgasm*
