shipping to USA
Hi everyone, looking for some advice on the cheapest way to ship to USA from Scotland.
I have read quite a few articles on the Wiki and searched other posts. But wondering if anyone has any advice on shipping.
I am only shipping kids toys, photos, school/art work kids have made, and a few bags of vacuum-packed bags of clothes.
Would it be worth me just sending these through royal mail by ship in several small boxes? Is it better to pack these items in small boxes as opposed to medium size boxes??
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hello!
Why don't you do some research and get some pricing for both mail and shipping? If it is small enough, maybe research upakweship. I have a bit more that I will be shipping back IF we get approved so I have started getting quotes from shipping companies.
I did this move from Philly to here two years ago and can honestly say that research and investigating whatever vendor you decide to go with (if not regular mail), is the way to go. Knowledge is power as they say.
Good luck!

The really small stuff, bag up and surface mail will be cheapest, then for anything over a few pounds, price it out via the various delivery companies, FedEx/DHL/UPS and then the shipping services...
Which will be cheaper would depend on weight and volume.

Thanks Bob! Spent the last few days pricing up different options... Have come to the conclusion the best option for us is to send a few small boxes (photos/paperwork) through surface mail and the rest I am going to take as excess baggage (£45 an extra suitcase). This works out way cheaper than the quotes I was getting from removal companies.
