5 years of collectibles could mean anything - are you including furniture, for example? (Search for threads on this - generally not advisable, doesn't fit in many UK homes.

$6k to $8k for a 20 ft container, inc. packing and unpacking, door-to-door. Try Wheaton Worldwide and Rinkens (ask for Christoph).

Also, read the recent thread on partial shipments: http://britishexpats.com/forum/showthread.php?t=650445

We're doing it from Canada and curently going through our stuff and sizing right down. We're just taking a couple of antiques (that's a piece from 1952 in Canada - lol) and paintings, lots of personal items. I think the rest we'll leave as it can be replaced cheaply and easily back home. I guess it all depends on the value of your stuff. We're planning an enormous garage sale in the spring.

Going back at the beginning of March. Not taking any furniture.....can easily be bought again....going to have an estate sale for that. Shipping about 12 boxes.... 6 extra large and 6 medium which totals about 50 cu.ft. Quote we got from Upakweshop was $895 door to door or if we add a few more boxes we could have a shared container costing $1095 door to door.

We shipped about the same from winnipeg last summer, used excessbaggage.com, who are based in London, they arranged dhl to pick up and deliver at the other end, took less than a week (arrived before we did!), and cost $1100CAD

An estate sale is when someone dies and the executor disposes of their estate.

That's what I thought until I moved here, they are very popular and used for a variety of reasons
