San Antonio
My kids [8 and 10] are getting on the Amtrak and going to San Antonio with my father-in-law for Spring Break. They'll probably spend a couple of days at SeaWorld. Any other suggestions?
Thanks

Re: San Antonio
Don't they have a fancy looking riverwalk there?. I've only been as far as the airport in San Antonio.

Re: San Antonio
Yes, the Riverwalk is fun, especially early in the evening when the water is sparkling with lights but the patrons of the restaurants and bars haven't had too many margaritas.
There are several historic missions in SA; the Alamo was one, but Mission San Jose is the best preserved and gives an excellent view as to what life on the frontier was like for the Spanish Catholic missionaries and their indigenous converts.
Make sure the kids have plenty of $$$$ for drinks because even at this time of year the theme parks get really hot, and they are very crowded. There is a water ride themed park that I'm forgetting the name of -- on the northeast side of the city. Ah yes -- it's Splashtown. Just north of SA in New Braunfels is Schlitterbahn which is awesome, but I'm not sure if these two will be open for spring break or not. The regular season doesn't start until a bit later.
http://www.sanantoniocvb.com/visitors/com_history.asp is a good page and talks about an underground kids playground I hadn't heard of before.
