Re: Roadside trash
It's usually pretty trash free round here most of the time. The crim's in their orange jumpsuits do the pick-up by the side of the main roads. What p**'s me off more than anything is, lazy f*c*ers that throw their trash out of the car window and can't be bothered to put it in a trash bin or take it home, as well as smokers that throw their lit ciggys out on to the roadside. They either don't realise, or more likely, don't care that it can start grass fires.

No, I'm not trying to sell it to all my neighbours as a distraction while my son goes in to their house to nick their TV and piss up the walls.
Anyway, I got sick of looking at it and dumped it all in the wheelie bin this morning. A clean car again

Ugh, is there any phonier bunch of people than the Amish? They drive around in their buggies with their bearded men and bonneted women just to show us how wholesome and simple-living they are. Never mind throwing thrash everywhere, they are America's #1 puppy mill owners and they are known generally for their disdain for animal rights.

A fair bit, noticed more in towns that don't have rubbish collection, or charge extra for it.
Also see it a fair bit up in Maine in the tourist areas, but there are a few groups like Friends of Arcadia that do a few voluntary clean ups before and after the tourist season.

People with clean cars and spotless interiors worry me. A bit like people with tidy desks....sign of a troubled mind......

Sounds like my car. Wife gets a bit ticked off, but she's not in the car often, so tough! Anyway, when I take it for an oil change they wash it and give it an interior valet so theres never more than about 7000miles-worth of crap and wrappers in there.

Its kinda nice when it comes out the garage, but it doesn't really feel like home until there are a few new splotches of ketchup on the ceiling and a pair of sweaty soccer socks about ready to get out and walk to the laundry on their own....

My boss commented on the interior of my car when he was parked next to me. Mentioned the "impression" it would give.

Here in San Diego the freeway verges are cleaned and tidied by teams of convicted felons dressed in bright orange; think chain gang!

We don't buy eggs from them or buy their vegetables because I don't really trust them in terms of standards of husbandry etc. However, I'm very glad they own so much of the farmland around here because they are farming it traditionally rather than the abandonment & neglect or monoculture of the "English" farmers.
