It is interesting that the website says that normally you can make contributions for up to 6 missing years but when my wife applied last year, and it wasn't simple, she had to make several calls, they allowed her to pay for 11 missing years. Don't know why but absolutely delighted. When she checked her record she found that she had 7 years credited while we had very young children and she was a stay at home mother. Consequently she will have 31 years of service come the time she begins to receive an OAP in a few years time while I will have 30 years.
