Default Receiving money from overseas

Hi,
I am in the US on an F2 Visa. A company that I used to work for back
in India needs to settle past dues with me and plans to do so over
the next 4 - 5 months.

I was wondering if I could have them deposit the money in my account
here in the US from their account in India. The amount will be about
$1500 per month. Will this create any problems with the INS and is
this legal?

Thanks,

INS or uncle sam does not care about a small amount. The question you have to
ask is: will it be ok with the Reserve Bank of India? If that income was not
earned by you as an NRI, and sent there by you, it is probably not repatriable.
Tread carefully...
