I don't hate them but I wouldn't do it if I had the chance again. They don't bother me at all. They're not seen at work and and I wouldn't care if they were.
I wouldn't pay a fortune to have them removed. They don't bother me enough to have them removed even if I won the NY state lottery
I wouldn't have them again because as we grow older and more mature (some faster than others) our tastes, outlooks and characters change. Pick a design when your 19 and by the time you're 39 you'll think "WTF was I thinking having that done"?
Having said that, my cousin has had a tattoo on his chest since he was 20 years old (he's now 45) and I have always and still do think he made a fantastic choice of design given his young age. He had a hand size Leonardo Di Vinci's "Vitruvian man" complete with the perimeter circle and latin inscriptions tattoo'd on his chest. Still looks very original for a tattoo design.

I will be getting something to represent Britain for my next, but I'm not quite sure what to get, so if anyone has any thoughts, they'd be much appreciated! Also, it has to be small, I have the first 2 on the small of my back & I'd like to keep that area as the only place I get tattooed as it's very easy to hide & I like that.

Re: RE Comments pls on visible tattoos for police officers....
I have three Tattoos. A dragon on my back, a rose on my chest and an Aston Villa badge on my leg . In the last 3 months I have had the dragon updated, the rose covered with another bigger and better rose and I am in the process (4 hours so far) of having the Villa tattoo covered with a Koi fish which will be a leg "sleeve" (knee to ankle and all the way around)
I had them all done young(ish) and although I dont regret them, the quality of the work was poor. Things have moved on in 20 years, the artists have better tools, inks and skills. I have more money so can go to $150 per hour tattooist rather than "street shop" in Yorkshire.
I think here in California it is much more socially acceptable than in the UK , the wife has just had a pretty big stars design on her upper arm and she seems to be one of a growing trend of younger women that have visible tattoos. I personally find it very attractive but worry that some these girls are so young (18-20) and are getting huge pieces on arms, legs, backs and stomachs (god forbid they have kids and get stretch marks :scared: ) that they may regret ....Jesus I was a hardcore socialist vegetarian that thought he could change the world at 18
