It was never a problem in the Prison Service I worked with a lad who was an ex Legionaire he was covered everywhere except his hands and face. The thing was although he was a clever guy and a cracking bloke people saw them first and made their minds up he was an idiot/thug. Sorry tattooed peeps it's a fact of life people will judge you on your appearance I'm sure you get it Debbie especially in nursing in fact at my wifes old hospital they actually suspended nurses with nose rings/studs. I'm surprised that the police are like this as it is a common follow on from a military career where tattos are comon place.

exactly, but I can realise that to some people seeing tattoo's on a professional would be unsettling.......I like tattoo's but would probably look twice if a copper was walking around with tattoo's on his neck or face....anywhere else though is fair game ( but then if I was calling the police I probably wouldn't even notice)......and to be honest if the police department is gonna demand this then they should sure as hell pay for the laser procedure to remove the tattoo....time off work etc etc


But then again like the article said, they were either hired with the tattoo's or had to have them as part of undercover work.....nah it's a stupid rule...somebody somewhere decided they've all got to look pretty...how about making sure they do their jobs right....as far as Houston is concerned ..I remember on the news a report showing that some coppers weren't even answering 911 calls and were hanging around Mc Donald's , socialising etc etc...and another copper picking up prostitutes etc.....sounds like bullshit to me ..trying to convince us they're making positive changes in the police department

yeah , my step dad has tattoo's down both arms....while none of them are offensive...he does admit to being pissed out of his head during some of them

I've always wanted a tatto ...I'll probably been one of those women who finally go and get one as they are reaching a mid-life crisis

Shallow? Nah. Prejudiced? Undoubtedly...Idiots, murderers, rapists, kidnappers, HOA commitee members, whining anti 2A pansies....I'm prejudiced against all these too.

Ive got 2 tatoos both only visible in the event of almost total nudity. Ones a small ying/yang the other is the George Cross with lion as I'm English. But I know exactly what you mean about people that have tats all over their heads/arms/faces etc.

I have no problem at all with discreet hidden personal tattoos .. but much as I enjoy Debs posting and have always been on her side re her personal life I
cannot help but feel her look with her tattoos showing is absolutely hideous and totally unattractive ... Fortunately my opinion will not matter one iota to her ..

I do think it looks particularly gross when the sweet little rose a woman has as a teenager becomes a sagging grossed out blob in her 60's...see them all the time on the beach down here..old wrinklie grannies with tats that are on display amongst the fake tits, taught face lifts, liposuction scars etc....bleeeh.
