Default Quick ESTA question

Sorry, I know this has probably been answered on here before but I just can't find it.

After getting a new passport you have to re-apply the ESTA right? You can't just change your passport number on the current one?

Make sure you don't Google to find the right website to use to apply (or click on a dodgy Google-Ad) as you may get a site that charges you to 'process the application on your behalf' - so acts as a middleman, which is completely unnecessary!

This is the correct link: https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/esta/esta.html

If the ESTA fee is more than $14, it's not the website to use.
