Price of gas update...

Their display alternates between the regular price and the EasyPay price. I don't see it as any different from the stations that display a cash price and credit price.
I haven't signed up for Easypay but may consider it. This is a new gas station right next to work and, so far, are very competitive, even without Easypay.

I haven't ever seen a place in FL that is not only lower than South Carolina but significantly lower. Mind you, I have noticed that new stations do offer some really good initial deals (thinking specifically of a newish 7-11 a couple of,miles from us) and are then not as competitive in the long run as neighbouring stations.

Prices have gone UP slightly in my part of the Bay Area. Costco is back up to $4.99, and most other places are around $5.50 (for regular). $4.59 was the lowest a month ago.

Southern Tennessee today around 3.19 one station 3.09. When I was a teen ager( mid 1960’s) gas was around 0.33 per gallon and minimum wage was $1.25. So $3.00 is about right. Another factor is gas mileage at that time was less than 1/2 of what today’s cars get. The Volkswagen Beetle got around 20mpg and was a considered a very efficient economy car.

Is that a typo or did you voluntarily pay ~$0.85 / gallon more than the minimum?

I paid $2.959 yesterday evening at Murphy's in Simpsonville, SC at their non-discounted price, the same morning I was cussing because I got caught short near Asheville, NC and begrudgingly stumped up for 10 gallons at $3.499.
Ingles a couple of days beforehand, raiding the wife's points, got me 2.879.
Prices are generally fairly stubborn round here with a good proportion of stations remaining high, it's not unusual to have a 40c difference within sight of a cheap competitor. There are probably half a dozen stations on my usual commute routes across 4 counties that are, and have been for at least a week, under $3.

In town here, there is a junction that had a Shell on one corner and an Exxon on the opposite corner. They were always 20-30c more than others nearby.
Last year a Murphy (walmart) station opened on the third corner. They are always competitive but the other 2 are STILL 10-20c more per gallon. I don't know how they stay in business.
