Except Restasis doesn't appear to have any cosmetic benefit at all, whereas Lumigan is acknowledged by, amongst others, the FDA to cause eyelash growth in many cases.

No, stem cell therapy. Same conditions apply in terms of rejection but it's a repair job to the pancreas rather than a full replacement. Several places worldwide have had luck with it, I believe some of the people treated at (I think) the university of Chicago are up to 5 years with normal or close to normal insulin production.

Edit: It's the University of Illinois, islet and stem cells.

I wish these treatments were more widely available, I know my Son would happily volunteer for either one if we could find a trials group for him

Few (if any) in the Pharma-Medical Industrial Complex today share such altruism today...much to their disgrace, and to mankind's detriment.

This is one that is trying to make a difference and not reap in profit for their efforts:

I could only wish there were more people that were like-minded.

Along the same lines, the guy who started the Remote Area Medical Foundation should get a mention:

Restasis is supposed to grow longer/thicker eyelashes...it's available with a doctor's script only...so it must have been approved by the FDA.

It may have been approved for dry eyes and certain other conditions, but I can't find any evidence, even anecdotal, of eyelash growth with Restasis. Can you point me to any evidence?

See http://www.drugs.com/pro/lumigan.html for evidence of Lumigan's side effects.
