Except Restasis doesn't appear to have any cosmetic benefit at all, whereas Lumigan is acknowledged by, amongst others, the FDA to cause eyelash growth in many cases.

No, stem cell therapy. Same conditions apply in terms of rejection but it's a repair job to the pancreas rather than a full replacement. Several places worldwide have had luck with it, I believe some of the people treated at (I think) the university of Chicago are up to 5 years with normal or close to normal insulin production.

Unlike drug companies, Salk refused to patent his polio vaccine- which resulted in immediate widespread usage, saving the lives of untold millions. Jenner also refused to profit from his smallpox vaccine- even though he had devoted so much time to the cause of vaccination that his private practice and his personal affairs suffered severely.

Restasis is supposed to grow longer/thicker eyelashes...it's available with a doctor's script only...so it must have been approved by the FDA.

It may have been approved for dry eyes and certain other conditions, but I can't find any evidence, even anecdotal, of eyelash growth with Restasis. Can you point me to any evidence?
