Port of Entry choice
Hello
It has been a long time since I'd emigrated to the states, that I have forgotten some things.
I have a friend who is moving over here to work. I cannot recall if you have to go to a specific Port of Entry, or if your first entry into the country with a visa, has to be to a designated POE.
Any advice would be so welcome, as I cannot find anything on the gov immigration site that specifically mentions choosing the correct POE.
Many thanks.

Many thanks Bunny Girl. For some reason I thought only certain POE's processed new visa immigrants because of the second interview process. I came through Newark POE myself 12 years ago. I wish I had known I could have literally flown straight to NC. lol.

Probably stems from donkeys back that only certain POE's did the temporary work authorisation stamp on K1 visa's. That's not the case any more.

Yeah you are probably right Bob. So many things seem to have changed in the last 12 years.

S Folinsky. Thank you for the info. Am going to contact the local airport and double check just in case.

Re: Port of Entry choice
Well it's any Class A POE, which includes any international airport and any land border POE where they deal with people rather than just goods. I think some of the boat ports on the lakes though are Class B.
